Our Doorway Must Haves…

First Impression count, so let’s start off with the front door. Like a puppy, a wreath isn’t just for Christmas, and a neutral one will help your home to stand out all year round. However, if you are like me and want to switch things up regularly, get creative and decorate your wreath throughout the year as the seasons change. Our mini dotty hearts will look perfect attached to your wreath during these Spring months. If you prefer something more minimalistic, then one of our hanging hearts or stars would look lovely.

Doormats provide the perfect opportunity to add a little texture to your doorstep. Let’s not forget the practicality of a doormat, without, my home would be covered with muddy paws after Darcy digging and hiding in the bushes of our garden.

There are so many ways to style your doorway and make it look pretty, the possibilities are endless.  Adding some greenery is always a good idea, bay trees either side of your door are beautiful if you are not bound by space. Instead, smaller plant pots or lanterns staggered along your steps or pathway will look just as gorgeous. For those small details that always adds a little character – Pop one our Rabbit or Hedgehog Pothangers on the edge of a planter.

Why not hang two our La Luna Lanterns either side of your door to create that beautiful rustic french courtyard feel with the help of our Antique Brackets.

Once you step into your hallway there’s a lot of factors to take into consideration – such as storage, personality, style and levels. However, always keep in mind that style and function should be harmonious. As much as we would love our houses to be ‘insta’ ready all the time, we need to remember a house must also be a home!

Homes need to be both practical and multifunctional. A stunning coat rack or stand is a must have, especially when space is limited. Our Shelf with hooks is ideal to hang your coats or to store some decorative pieces, in order to create the perfect shelfie. Likewise there’s plenty of  room to place baskets on top for all the not so pretty stuff! I’m forever trying to maximise my storage space, so baskets massively help me achieve this whilst always looking lovely. Mixing up the material of baskets between wicker and willow will help to add texture to your home, or even help to create an English country feel.

Mirrors…you simply cannot go wrong!  If you have a dark hallway like I do, adding a mirror is a great way to solve this. Reflecting the light you do have, a mirror will do wonders to brighten up your space. Additionally, they have the ability to make a small space appear larger to the eye. Not forgetting the practical side too, one final look before you venture out the door. Placing a mirror over a console table will add an inviting touch to your hallway. We have a range of mirrors in store.

If you are fortunate to have a spacious hallway, adding a bench below your coat rail will look beautiful and help to achieve a modern country style. Getting the children out the door is always a mission, so having a bench will make the task an awful lot easier! We have a range benches to choose from in store.
