The first day of October and we have most certainly hit autumn. As the leaves fall from the trees, it’s important that we adapt our homes for the new season. Although I hate being cold and starting and finishing work in darkness, there are plenty of things to be excited for. I adore making my home cosy, from firing up the log burner to the soft glow from the lamps or digging out all my favourite blankets, it’s a fun and creative time in the home. Below, I have selected a few of my favourite items and what I consider to be this autumn’s must haves, as well as, a few styling tips as to how best you can integrate them into your home style.
Fig and Olive Hydrangea Stem
First up, we have our Fig and Olive Hydrangea stems that will make a huge autumn statement in any room, I have sneakily kept a few for myself from the delivery. I adore the autumnal tones running through the leaves, but I also think they are going to be a mainstay throughout the whole winter. A few stems of the Hydrangeas will look complement our Natural Eucalyptus seamlessly, personally I’m going to style the arrangement in our Tall Ivory Jug.
Small Crown on Foot
I must admit, I have a serious soft spot for all Crown Candle Holders. I absolutely adore our Small Crown on Foot for this Autumn. I have popped one either side of my bed to add a touch of elegance to the space and I cannot wait to enjoy an evening reading home mags in the gorgeous candle light. Cosy with a rustic texture, irresistibly stylish.
As the nights begin to draw in and we spend the majority of time at home in the dark, it’s important we get the balance of light right. Lamps are an essential component for Autumn styling and our Katie Lamp is no exception. The Katie Lamp has a distressed grey finish to add texture to your space, topped with a grey linen shade to bring back the softness. It’s the perfect size for a bedside or pop two either side a console or sideboard.
I have spoken a lot on these blogs about how incredibly versatile books can be when styling your home. They instantly add a professional designer look at a very affordable price. Here we have our Classical Bookends which are the perfect accessory to enhance your books to the next level. On a console or sideboard, they create almost a shelf of their own, but they can be well suited within a large bookshelf. Allowing you to get creative and arrange your books however you please. When it comes to autumn styling, rustic textures are king and the bookends fit perfectly with this theme.
Rattan Log Baskets (Two Sizes)
The colder months are synonymous with cosy open log wood fires, so in turn, we need somewhere stylish to keep our firewood and kindling. Our Rattan Log Baskets are certainly up for the task. Even if you don’t have a log burner necessarily, they are still a perfect way to add a cosy autumn and winter feel to your living room.
Milton Horse (Two Sizes)
Named after the iconic showjumping horse, introducing my favourite item from our Autumn collection, the Milton Horses. Display both sizes together, giving the effect of a mare and its foal. Again, a versatile styling accessory which can quite simply go anywhere in your home and add a rustic touch. I would say most suited to be styled on a console table in a living room or hallway.
